Data Science programmes

Below is a list of programmes in the area of computational modelling and data science currently offered by The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

Bachelor’s programme

Starting in 2022, the University of Amsterdam will offer the Bachelor's programme Computational Social Science. The Bachelor’s programme in Computational Social Science lies at the interface of social sciences, humanities, and computational sciences and is offered by three faculties of the University of Amsterdam (Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities, and the Faculty of Social & Behavioural Sciences). In this programme, students learn to develop and evaluate interventions designed to address complex social issues.

Master's track

The Department of Psychology offers the Master's track Behavioural Data Science. This track focuses on the use of advanced statistical modeling techniques as applied to questions about human behaviour.

Minor

The Department of Communication Science offers the Minor Communication in the Digital Society. This minor covers how digital technologies influence communication in the broad sense – encompassing marketing, health, entertainment, politics and news, and explicitly combines theory, computational methods, and critical reflection.
